The Wisconsin Engineer Wiki

Promotional Materials

There are many events where you might have to let someone know about the magazine. This is your one-stop Wisconsin Engineer promotional guide. You might be at Engineering Expo, at a job interview, promoting the magazine, doing a distribution, or whatever. It's a good thing to have a short elevator presentation ready to go.

Here are some facts to remember:

  • Award-winning publication, magazine of the year at ECMA 2005
  • The magazine is over 111 years old
  • It is produced and funded entirely by students
  • Published four times a year
  • Engineering & Science news from UW-Madison

Ok, so your elevator talk might go something like this:

**Industry rep walks up to booth at EXPO**
You: "Hi! I am here representing the Wisconsin Engineer magazine. We have been around since 1986, which makes us 111 years old! We are entirely student run, and produce four issues a year. We cover science and engineering news. In particular we like to keep our readers up to date on research at UW-Madison. Here is a copy of our latest issue that you can take with you!"

**Pause for questions & Improvise**

Materials that may help you promote the magazine:
